Drake Samples Lil’ Wayne

So this is where “Best I Ever Had” came from; I always thought Drake was creative with the hooks but I’m beginning to see that recycling small parts of things that works helps form hits.

How did I ever miss this? I’ve gotten most of Weezy’s mixtapes as he dropped em but I guess I must’ve skipped over “Leak V”…but damn Drake really went in with Wayne’s cadence and ran with it for “Best I Ever Had”. I’ve always been a fan of sampling, and I guess this is a great idea but where’s the line drawn?  Another example of something like this I can think of is “John”, where Wayne basically recycles Ross’ “I’m Not a Star”. (“Somebody lied…I got a choppa in the car”)
